Have you found yourself judging people more than usual? Are you disconnected from your partner? Have you stopped attending events or activities you used to enjoy? Your third eye chakra may be to blame.

Our chakras allow us to go through life with a balanced mind, body, and spirit. When one chakra is no longer aligned, it can have specific physical and mental impacts. It can even impact our sex life.

Your third eye chakra is associated with your “sixth sense.” If you have found yourself disassociating more than usual or having very low energy, your third eye may be unbalanced.

What is the third eye chakra?

Arguably the most well-known chakra, the third eye (Ajna) is located between the eyes. It is the center of enlightenment and self-actualization. Tapping into our third eye helps us make sense of the things around us – it’s our intuition.

Is your third eye chakra blocked?

When your third eye chakra is blocked, you will feel disconnected from your instincts. You may start seeing things in a negative light due to your inability to connect with yourself and others.

This can cause chronic negativity, which eats away at relationships. If you find yourself being short with your partner or questioning your future, it may be because your third eye is blocked.

How can you open your third eye chakra?

Opening your third eye starts with visualization.

  • Identify your future goals and write them down. This practice can help you gain clarity and rediscover your passions.
  • Look inward to pinpoint how you’re actually feeling. Are you stressed? Are you overwhelmed? Have you gotten enough sleep? Determine what areas of your life may be causing the brain fog and create a path forward.

Next, focus on lifestyle changes.

  • Eat whole foods.
Eating too many processed foods can make opening your third eye even more difficult. Focus on eating more fruits and vegetables. Choosing purple foods such as blackberries, blueberries, purple sweet potatoes, and eggplant can have an especially powerful impact.
  • Lean into your yoga practice.
Simple poses allow your third eye to find physical grounding. Try pressing your forehead to the ground in child’s pose. While in the posture, try box breathing for further grounding.
  • Try Circular breathing.
You can do this alone or with your partner. This process can help you disconnect from the stress that may be impacting your chakra and find inner clarity.

When you are struggling with connection due to a closed chakra, it’s always helpful to bring your partner into the conversation. They’re likely feeling the disconnect and want to help you find clarity. If you would like support on this journey, schedule an appointment with us today!
